1. Who we are
The Framer is operated by BAARS DESIGN, org. nr. 938 054 037, registered in Norway (baars.design). “We”, “us” and “The Framer” in these terms refer to BAARS DESIGN. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. The service
The Framer lets you browse a curated catalogue of public-domain artworks and display them on a Samsung Frame TV in your home via the Framer Bridge, a small program you install on a device on your own network. The bridge communicates with your TV over your local network using the same community-documented local interfaces that Samsung's own apps use. The Framer is an independent product: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Samsung.
3. Plans, prices and trial
The Framer is a paid subscription, billed per household: Light at €3 per month and Full at €6 per month, including VAT where applicable (the exact tax is shown at checkout based on your country). Every subscription starts with a 14-day free trial. A payment card is required to start the trial; the first charge happens only after the trial ends, and you can cancel during the trial at no cost. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
4. Cancellation and right of withdrawal
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings page (Manage subscription); your plan then runs until the end of the paid period and does not renew. As an EU/EEA consumer you also have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. Because the service is delivered immediately, at checkout you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that the withdrawal right lapses once performance has begun — the free trial means this costs you nothing: cancelling within the first 14 days always results in no charge. 5. Your account
You sign in with a Google account. You must be at least 18 years old (or have a parent or guardian's consent) to purchase a subscription. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account and for the devices you link to it. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page; this removes your profile, favourites, households you solely own, and linked bridges.
6. The artworks
Artworks in the catalogue are reproductions of works that the source museums have published as public domain (CC0 or equivalent). The Framer does not claim ownership of any artwork, and we credit the artist, title and source museum in the app. If you believe a work is included in error, contact us and we will review and remove it where appropriate.
7. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the service, access other users' data, or use the service to distribute unlawful content. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.
8. Changes and termination
The service is a small independent product and may change or be discontinued. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice of significant changes; if a change materially reduces what you pay for, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of the current period. These terms may be updated from time to time; we will announce material updates in the app or by email, and continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Framer is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. The service interacts with your TV over your own local network; you use it with your own equipment at your own discretion.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. If you are a consumer residing in another EU/EEA country, you additionally keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your country of residence, and you may bring disputes before your local courts or the EU online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
11. Trademarks
Samsung, The Frame and Art Mode are trademarks of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. They are used here only to describe compatibility. The Framer is an independent product by BAARS DESIGN and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Samsung.
